HOW DO WE INFLUENCE LAWS?
For more than 20 years we have engaged with the legal system daily. This means we are well positioned to hold systems accountable, challenge and change laws that are not working and influence the creation of new laws. We live in a democracy and the voice of our Community is an important contribution to local, state, national and even international policy and law.
SOME OF THE WAYS WE CONTRIBUTE TO LAW REFORM AND HOLDING SYSTEMS ACCOUNTABLE ARE:

- We make submissions to Parliamentary Inquiries
- We work with child protection systems to ensure our clients can access their rights
- We engage in consultations about legislation or systems changes
- We attend and speak at conferences on important law reform topics

MEDIA AND SUBMISSIONS
MEDIA
We have a collective voice that represents our clients, families and communities across regional, rural and remote Queensland. We cast a wide net with different types of media like radio, television, newspaper and social media to get our work out there. We prioritise local, state and national Indigenous media to accurately represent us. However, we understand the importance of allyship and understanding across our multicultural nation.
SUBMISSIONS
Read the submissions we make to parliamentary inquiries and consultations, alongside our reports, factsheets and other publications.
MAKE A DONATION
All donations go towards outreach, community development and creating resources. We reach more women, families and communities when more people give.
